Orlando Pirates star duo set to go out on LOAN!

Orlando Pirates are currently discussing potential loan moves for two star midfielders according to reports.

The Buccaneers are currently home to a number of top quality midfielders however, with their abundance of talent in the middle of the park comes the unfortunate reality that game-time will be scarce.

Orlando Pirates are currently looking at sending two of their midfielders out on loan to keep their players playing regular football during the 2021/2022 campaign.

Orlando Pirates discussing loan moves for two midfielders

“It is something that is still being discussed by the technical team and the management, but I think there is a high possibility that it will happen.” an unnamed Orlando Pirates source told Phakaaathi.

“Figo (Linda Mntambo) has not played enough and it seems like it’s going to be worse this season, looking at the players that have been brought in. So, Figo and Collins Makgaka are likely to leave, there was also a suggestion to take Azola Tshobeni on loan as well. It doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen.

“But I think it’s a good idea to send Figo and Collins on loan, especially Collins because hasn’t played much since he joined Orlando Pirates. Things are going to be difficult this season and you will see that. Some players like Been Motshwari and Thabang Monare are going to struggle for game time as well.”

The Buccaneers already have as many as 12 players that can slot into their midfielder. This includes the likes of the above mentioned trio as well as Ben Motshwari, Fortune Makaringe, Nyanyiso Zungu, Gladwin Shitolo, Goodman Mosele, Thabang Monare, Siphesihle Ndlovu and Abel Mabaso.

Orlando Pirates have began their 2021/2022 campaign in disaster fashion after crashing out of the MTN8 at the hands of Swallows FC while the Buccaneers have picked up just two points in their opening two league matches.
