Fruit-filled Sausages make a tasty pre-dinner party snack

Dinner parties always require some before dinner snacks to serve to your guests. Which is why I am sharing this quick and effortless recipe of sausages stuffed with fruit for you to try at home.

Sausages stuffed with seasonal fruit

    This quick and easy recipe makes four to eight sausages.

    Ingredients

    • 4-8 banger-sized sausages (cocktail sausages are better for parties)

    • 4-8 strips of streaky bacon

    • Any seasonal fruit, such as green mango, nectarine, peach, pineapple or pear (you can even use canned fruit)

    Method

    • Make an incision down the length of the sausages, taking care not to cut all the way through.
    • Cut the fruit into strips.
    • Fill the sausages with the fruit pieces and finish off by wrapping the bacon strips around the sausages (you could use baby marrow slices or something similar as another option) and secure with a toothpick.
    • Grill or fry over a medium heat — cooking time is between 15 and 20 minutes. Turn occasionally to get an even, golden look.
    • To add extra zesty flavour, serve with apple or mustard sauce.
