AFCON 2021: SUNDOWNS’ MABOE PICKS FAVOURITES
Any one of us can predict AFCON’s winners come the final day on 6 February, but it’s always a bit more interesting when a player at the top level gives his prediction.
That player is a man who was with Bafana Bafana at the previous AFCON event in 2019, where our national side went as far as the quarter-finals.

Sundowns’ Maboe was asked to predict who he expects to emerge as the champions of Africa at AFCON 2021.
“I think I will give it to Senegal, with the quality they have, they are my favourites to lift the trophy,” Maboe told Sundowns media.
“They are my favourites just from seeing how they were able to win their games.
“Even recently watching them in their World Cup Qualifiers, just seeing the amount of depth and quality that they have, so they are my favourites,”
the player who is known as “‘Tso” added.
The Mpumalanga-born star concluded to make special mention of other heavyweights in West Africa and the North.
“At the same time we can’t look past countries like Nigeria, who probably have got the same amount of quality in their team, the likes of the Ivory Coast, Morocco, and Algeria,” he concluded.
