Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
- Yellow level 2 of severe storms with disruptive rain, hail andstrong damaging wind expected over the extreme eastern parts of the Northern Cape, as well as the western half of the North West Province, in places over the Free State, north-eastern interior of the Eastern Cape and the south-western parts of KwaZulu Natal, may lead to localised flooding, injuries, danger to life and damage to infrastructure, vehicles, livelihood and livestock.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
- Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over Tsantsabane LM of the Northern Cape.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Cloudy in the east at first, otherwise fine and cool to warm. It will become partly cloudy with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers in the Highveld areas.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Cloudy with drizzle along the escarpment at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected in the west and south-west.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Cloudy and warm with showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the south.
Free State:
Temperature: Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the west.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east, otherwise fine and cool but warm in places over the south-western interior.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate westerly becoming southerly in the afternoon
Western Cape:
Temperature: Fine over Cape Metropole and West Coast, otherwise Cloudy to partly cloudy and cool with rain and showers along the south coast throughout the day, spreading to the interior in the afternoon.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be light and variable north of Cape Columbine and eastern parts of south coast in the early morning, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly but strong at times between Saldanha Bay and Cape Point.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very high.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers. but cloudy with isolated showers and rain along the coast and adjacent interior.
The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate south-easterly.
The Eastern half – Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Partly cloudy to cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the south.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly, becoming moderating to fresh south-westerly.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
