Marumo Gallants suspend trio over reported salary cuts

There is more trouble at Marumo Gallants as three of their players have been slapped with suspension five games into the current campaign.

The three suspended players are Tholang Masegela, Aluwani Nedzamba and Simon Mamudzidi.

According to FarPost, Gallants suspended the trio after they were not happy with their conduct following the club’s decision to cut their salaries.

However, the publication reports that Gallants cut the trio’s salaries despite the involved parties not reaching an agreement.

Masegela, Nedzamba and Mamudzidi then approached the South African Football Players Union (SAFPU) for intervention.

And that didn’t sit well with Gallants although they didn’t reveal the reasons for suspending the trio in a statement, the same publication reports.

“Tholang Masegela, Aluwani Nedzamba, and Simon Mamudzidi, were suspended following a meeting called by senior management to address individual players today (Wednesday),” reads the statement.

“Management will not discuss the reasons of the suspension now as this is still an internal matter.”

The suspension of Masegela, Nedzamba and Mamudzidi comes a week after the resignation of Francois Luscuito as the club’s assistant coach.
