Kolbe has set the rugby world alight. The man who scored the try that broke English fans hearts and sealed the Boks 2019 Rugby World Cup triumph in Tokyo is the same person who scored the scintillating winner against the British & Irish Lions!
The 27-year-old is an asset to any team he plays for. He has a Rugby Championship, Rugby World Cup and British & Irish Lions series to add to his incredible list of accolades.
R36. 8 million is a small price to pay for the experience, skills and game-changing attributes Kolbe brings. He is a priceless talent. Toulon had to buy Kolbe out of his contract that still had two years left. However, they know that he is worth every cent spent.
Now, he joins one of the biggest clubs in the world. A club that has hosted legends such as Bryan Habana, Jonny Wilkinson and Bakkies Botha.
He will be joining fellow Bok teammate and enforcer, Eben Etzebeth. He is set to be a Bok legend one day too. Toulon had to dig deep into their pockets to get him to leave their rivals.
In between these two accomplishes, Kolbe achieved more than any individual player in the world – even playing flyhalf on his way to conquering and the Northern Hemisphere! Kolbe secured the European Championship with French side Toulouse and wrapped up the try of the season in the tournament. He was announced as European Player of the Season too.
It seems there is nothing this man can’t do as he even scored a 50m drop goal in the French Top 14 final! The Bok right winger is easily the most enthralling runner in world rugby right now and one of the best tacklers too.
