Former Kaizer Chiefs keeper set for Middendorp reunion
Recently released Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brylon Petersen has rebounded quickly finding a club in Kwazulu-Natal.
Petersen has joined Maritzburg United who are currently under the direction of former Kaizer Chiefs mentor Ernst Middendorp.
The keeper has almost been a part-timer over the last few seasons as he worked hard to complete an engineering degree.
With Jethren Barr and Bongani Mpandle leaving the Team of Choice at the end of the season, Middendorp has been keen on bringing in a replacement stopper.
Orlando Pirates may reverse loan decision
Orlando Pirates are considering terminating the loan of Evidence Makgopa to Baroka FC.
The striking prospect was signed from the Limpopo club and immediately loaned back to Bakgaga for the coming season.
However, Orlando Pirates face something of a striking crisis which may foreshadow a difficult campaign if they are unable to further reinforce their ranks.
Kickoff.com reports that Orlando Pirates are keen to alter the terms of the transfer.
Mahlangu becomes 11th Sekhukhune United signing
Former Callies midfielder Pogiso Mahlangu has become the 11th player signed by newly promoted Sekhukhune United.
Mahlangu was among a handful of players released by the cash-strapped Tshwane club, and has landed on his feet, making the step up to the DStv Premiership.
“Sekhukhune United Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Pogiso Mahlangu (29) from the GladAfrica Championship side, Pretoria Callies known as the “Romans”. Mahlangu was born in Mamelodi and started his career with the University of Pretoria in 2013,” read an announcement from the club.
Gallants sign former youth international
Former South Africa Under-20 star Maselaelo’ Shakes’ Seanego has been snapped up by Marumo Gallants.
Seanego returns to South African football after a spell in Zambia with Forest Rangers.
“He has signed with Marumo Gallants. We would like to thank the club management and technical team for affording him another opportunity to play football in the PSL,” the player’s agent told reporters.
“He played for Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. That shows his quality. Unfortunately, along the way, things didn’t go well for him. He is back again on his feet and hungry for success.”
Swallows complete loan signing
Moroka Swallows have reinforced their ranks with the loan signing of Orlando Pirates’ Zambian midfielder Austin Muwowo.
Muwowo is believed to be a candidate for regular first-team football at Monnapule Saleng.
“We lost Sekgota to Chiefs. Saleng is a perfect replacement. You must also remember we signed [Khethukuthula] Ndlovu on the left side of the midfield,” Swallows boss David Mogashoa tells KickOff.com.
“The coach is looking for more energetic players with the new system he intends to introduce this coming season.”
