Shona Ferguson: ‘I’m struggling to process everything,’ says Connie
Actress Connie Ferguson says she’s still coming to terms with the death of her husband, Shona. In a moving tribute on Instagram, she says the couple had all kinds of plans in the pipeline, including celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary in November.
“Ours is a once in a lifetime kind of love. We joked about how we were going to be in our old age. How we would take turns supporting each other and being strong for each other. The irony is we have already been doing that for the past 20 years,” Ferguson wrote in a late night post on Saturday, 31 July 2021.
The 47-year-old TV producer passed away on Friday, at the age of 47. The Ferguson family confirmed in a brief statement that he succumbed to complications related to COVID-19, in hospital.
“Oh how God has loved me to give me YOU! We were already planning our 20th wedding anniversary in November, assuming that we had time! (sic) You and I were joined at the hip, now I feel completely off balance, incomplete, without my other half! My SOULMATE”

“I’m struggling to process everything that’s going on! It all just feels like a horrible nightmare that I can’t wake up from! (sic) I feel like I’m living in a twilight zone! (sic) I keep asking God WHY? Why Lord? (sic) Please help me understand! I trust you! I trust you to see me and my family through this! (sic) Please give me and my family the strength to carry on, and continue our hero’s legacy! (sic) Only YOU can!,” she said.
