‘Skeem Saam’ update: Popular soapie renewed for season 10

The renewal of the popular SABC1 soapie Skeem Saam for another season came as music fans that went into a panic when the show went on a two-month production break earlier this year after the show lost more than 3 million viewers and lost their signature third position in the country.

The series’ lead actors — Mantuli Seakamela (played by Dieketseng Mnisi), Clement (Vusi Leremi) and Pretty Seakamela (Lerato Marabe) — announced the news of the new season on Skeem Saam’s Twitter account, @SkeemSaam3.

“We are back, shooting another amazing season of your favourite soapie and the storylines are going to be on fire. There’s more drama, upper things and everything.”

Current storyline:

There’s a war brewing between the Seakamelas and the Maputlas over Kwaito Seakamela’s (played by Clement Maosa) paternity.

Meikie Maputla played by Harriet Manamela suspects that her husband, John Maputla (played by Africa Tsoai) is cheating on her with his old mistress, Charity Ramabu (Makgofe Moagi), but John is actually sneaking around with Meikie’s best friend, Mantuli Seakamela (Dieketseng Mnisi), behind her back.
