After a bright start to the match by Pitso Mosimane’s men, it was the home side who broke the deadlock in the 35th minute with Ashrad Mohamed Sayed grabbing the goal with a powerful effort from distance.
Mosimane responded with a double change at the start for the second half after introducing Walid Soliman and Mahmoud Walid.

Unfortunately for Mosimane’s men the changes failed to have the desired impact as they failed to find an equaliser.
The defeat left Al Ahly in second spot, four points behind Zamalek, but with two matches in hand.
Al Ahly will next be in action in another tough-looking clash against fifth-place Al Ittihad on 6 May following by a mouth-watering top of the table clash next Monday, 10 May at home against Zamalek.
Both matches will kick off at 21:30 SA time.
Thereafter, Al Ahly will host Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of their blockbuster CAF Champions League quarter-final, currently penciled in for Friday, 14 May.
