Kaizer Chiefs swiftly settle on Gavin Hunt’s replacement?

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly settled on Gavin Hunt’s replacement and the new manager is set to arrive in South Africa to conclude a deal with the club in the coming days.

Gavin Hunt was sacked less than a week ago after a woeful maiden season on the domestic front at Kaizer Chiefs and the club have since acted swiftly in replacing the former Bidvest Wits mentor ahead of next season.

A familiar face in Stuart Baxter is close to securing a return to the club with the hope of returning the club back to its glory days according to reports.

Stuart Baxter ready to conclude talks with Kaizer Chiefs?

Stuart Baxter’s agent Steve Kapelushnick confirmed that the Englishman is to arrive in South Africa in the coming days to conclude a deal with his next club.

“I am in KwaZulu-Natal at the moment and have asked Stuart to meet me. He is on his way to Johannesburg and we will meet soon to discuss his next step forward,” Kapelushnick told SoccerLaduma amidst links to Kaizer Chiefs.

“There is an offer from Sweden and we are in talks with local clubs, but we still have to map out a way forward and then we can take it from there. And hopefully this will be done in the next few days.”

Baxter given the greenlight to coach in South Africa

The former Kaizer Chiefs manager was fired by Indian Super League club Odisha FC earlier this year for making inappropriate comments regarding ‘rape’.

“You need decisions to go your way and they didn’t. I don’t know when we’re going to get a penalty. I think one of my players would have to rape someone or get raped himself if he was going to get a penalty.” – Baxter said at the time.
