Killed in cold blood: Durban man gunned down near car wash

A man was shot and killed in a shooting on Acorn Road in Kwandengezi on Friday. 

SHOOTING TOOK PLACE NEAR CAR WASH 

According to Shawn Herbst, Netcare 911, paramedics responded to the shooting at around 12:22 on Friday afternoon. 

“Reports indicate that an adult male had been gunned down at a roadside car wash.” 

He said when medics arrived on the scene they found the man lying in a pool of blood in the driveway.

“The man was assessed, however, he showed no signs of life.” 

Herbst said the man was sadly declared dead on the scene.

“Circumstances leading up to the incident will be investigated by the Marionhill SAPS.” 

Police could not yet provide more information on the shooting.

SEVERAL MURDERS TOOK PLACE IN DURBAN THE PAST WEEK 

On Thursday, an elderly 62-year-old mother was stabbed to death in her home in Everest Heights on Thursday afternoon.

Prem Balram, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) said officers discovered the body of Ormilla Samdath in her kitchen at her home on Olivine Road in Everest Heights.

“Samdath was found to have sustained at least six stab wounds to her body and blunt force trauma to her head & face.”

Meanwhile, a 51-year-old security officer was shot and killed on Tuesday evening at a reservoir in Emona, Tongaat.

Prem Barlam, spokesperson of the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) said reaction officers were flagged while conducting a patrol.

“Three suspects entered the premises and held them up.

“Their attackers deprived both security officers of their .38 Special revolvers and their cellphones.”

The 51-year-old security officer was found lying on his back in a shipping container. The man sustained a gunshot wound to his back and was declared deceased.
