TTM accuse Rhulani Manzini of ‘being economical with the truth’

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) have issued a statement regarding the status of Rhulani Manzini.

The striker was first suspended and then dismissed from the club after a training ground bust up with teammate Alfred Ndengane with Manzini claiming the club had shorted him on his final cheque.

TTM confirm Manzini has been paid

TTM in return have accused the disgraced forward of being economical with the truth.

The Limpopo club have had some issues with cash flow and the payment of salaries in the past but TTM say that the delay was down to the disciplinar proceedings against Manzini.

TTM liason manager Rufus Matsena confirmed that Manzini was paid his final salary directly after the verdict in the proceedings.

“I think he is being very economical with the truth. He has been paid. He could not have been paid on the day he was supposed to be paid because remember he was on suspension. He was paid immediately after the verdict,” Matsena said in an interview with Soccer Laduma.

Manzini has vowed to take the case to arbitration but TTM representatives believe they have followed the proper procedure in this instance.

“He was represented by the union and everybody was there. They felt that the proceedings were fair. Unless if they would have indicated immediately that the proceedings were not fair. Then we would be worried. But all went fair and it should not be a problem. But everybody has got the right to do that (appeal).”

An untimely indiscretion

Manzini had scored twice in 12 league appearances for TTM before the bust-up that cost the 33-year-old his contract. He had shown flashes of the player he was during his best days at Chippa United.

TTM management felt that had to make an example of Manzini who reportedly left his teammate with a nasty gash to the head and the player now faces what might prove a tricky search for a new team.
