This follows the Chadian Ministry of Youth and Sports’ decision to suspend the Chadian Football Federation.

“Following the suspension of the Chadian Football Federation by the Chadian Ministry of Youth and Sports, CAF has decided to disqualify the national team of Chad from the qualifiers of 2021 Africa Cup of Nations,” CAF said in a statement.

Chad was in Group A of the AFCON qualifiers alongside Namibia, Guinea, and Mali.

They had already played four qualifying matches – lost three and drew one – meaning they still had two more matches to play; against Namibia and Mali.

According to CAF, Chad has been declared losers of both matches.

“In line with Article 61 read together with Article 64 of the CAF Regulations, Chad is considered a loser of both matches against Namibia and Mali.”

As things stand, Mali lead Group A with 10 points after four games while Namibia are behind second-placed Guinea with three points from the same number of games. Guinea are on eight points.
