Kaizer Chiefs | Ramahlwe Mphahlele knows exactly who’s failing Amakhosi

Kaizer Chiefs captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele knows exactly who to blame for the struggles the club is facing this season.

Amakhosi are lingering in the bottom of half of the DStv Premiership log and have missed out on both the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup, and Mphahlele said it doesn’t need a rocket scientist to tell that they are struggling.

And while a section of fans continues to point fingers at Gavin Hunt and the management, Mphahlele believes the players are failing Chiefs, saying they are not doing enough.

“Look it doesn’t need a rocket scientist. We know, we’re not in a good space, we’re not doing well, the results are not forthcoming,” Mphahlele told iDiski Times.

“We, as players, have to take responsibility for that and say, ‘guys are we doing enough?’ Which I think we are not, we are not doing enough to help the club,” he said.

Mphahlele admits the only people who can take Chiefs out of the current situation are the current players themselves, and made a rallying cry to the senior players to take full responsibility.

“I mean, this is one of the biggest clubs and we’re going through what we’re going through but the only people who can take the club out of this situation are the current crop of players that are there,” continued Mphahlele.

He added: “We are aware of the transfer ban that we have from FIFA.”
