Molefi Ntseki eases pressure on Bafana Bafana: ‘It is for Sudan to lose’

Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki feels his side created enough goalscoring chances to beat Ghana in Thursday’s AFCON qualifying match at the FNB Stadium.

The hosts could only pick up a point against the Black Stars, and while Ntseki believes Bafana Bafana dominated possession, his assessment was that they were just unfortunate on the day.

Bafana and Ghana played to a 1-1 draw and are tied on 10 points after five Group C matches.

And Ntseki is already looking ahead with Sudan lying in wait for Sunday’s clash in Khartoum. The coach is of the view that the pressure to win will be more on Sudan than on Bafana Bafana.

Ntseki expects Sudan to take the game to Bafana Bafana, and he revealed he will bank on his speedy attackers to counter-attack and to get the team maximum points in Khartoum.

“In football, there’s something very interesting. If you look we had more possession, very good opportunities but unfortunately, we ended up with a draw and I think going to Sudan it’s for them to lose,” Ntseki told the SABC after the game.

“Because they will be coming at us and we already have a plan for that, they have to play to win, a draw is not going to help them,” he said.

“So, in this case, they will have to come at us, and coming to us we have very good players who can play on a transition and get us a win,” concluded Ntseki.

Bafana Bafana need at least a point against Sudan to book their ticket to Cameroon.
