How to make the perfect crispy onion rings

These onion rings are the perfect side dish for your next meal. You can replace your regular fries with these golden, crispy onion rings instead. Use as a topping on a burger or add them to a salad for some extra crunch.

    Ingredients

    • 500 ml milk

    • 2 large thinly sliced onions

    • 15 ml barbeque spice

    • 5 ml paprika

    • 2 cups flour

    • 500 ml oil

    • salt  

    Method

    • Soak the thinly sliced, separated onion rings in the milk for 25 minutes.
    • Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.
    • Heat the oil in a saucepan.
    • Dip the onion rings in the dry mixture. Shake off the excess flour.
    • In batches, fry the onion rings until crispy. Drain on a paper towel. Serve immediately.
