Kaizer Chiefs players are just not good enough, says club legend
There is nothing coach Gavin Hunt can do to remedy the situation at Kaizer Chiefs until next season because the players are not good enough.
Those were the words of former Amakhosi striker Shane McGregor, who said Hunt’s inability to reinforce the squad is the reason for the club’s struggles.

Chiefs recently suffered their heaviest defeat in 16 years, losing 4-0 to Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League on Sunday.
And according to McGregor, the defeat to Wydad has certainly done too much damage to the players’ confidence, especially because Chiefs haven’t been doing well.
“They haven’t been able to strengthen the squad and obviously the team is not good enough,” McGregor told Sowetan.
“The players are not good enough. So, it is difficult for them.”

“The defeat is now going to be a huge blow. It doesn’t help confidence,” he said.
“As I said, if you don’t have the players, there is nothing you can do, unfortunately. And if you can’t buy and bring players, there is nothing they can do until next season,” added McGregor.
Asked what Chiefs need to do, McGregor said they just need to soldier on until the end of the season when they can be able to refresh the team.
“They need to try their best and see what they can do until the rest of the year,” he concluded.
