Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
- Yellow Level 1 warning for damaging winds with possible impact such as difficulty in navigation at sea is expected between Lambert’s Bay and Betty’s Bay from the afternoon
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
- Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Nama-Khoi and Kamiesberg Municipalities of the Northern Cape.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Cloudy in the east with fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers but scattered in the Highveld.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Cloudy in the east, otherwise partly and cool to warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers but scattered in the south-west.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy over the extreme east with isolated showers and thundershowers.
Free State:
Temperature: Fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy over the eastern parts with isolated showers and thundershowers.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Partly cloudy in the south in the morning, otherwise fine and warm to hot. It will be cool along the coast.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly, becoming strong in the evening.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Cloudy to partly cloudy and cool but warm over the north-eastern and the north-western parts, becoming fine in the north by the afternoon.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly but light to moderate south-westerly along the south coastal towns.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Temperature: Cloudy and cool, with light rain and showers in places along the coast and in the southeast in the morning, becoming fine over the northern and western interior in the afternoon.
The Western Half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southwesterly, becoming light and variable west of St Francis in the evening.
The Eastern half – Temperature: Cloudy and cool, with light rain in places in the southwest and northeast early morning, becoming fine over the northwestern interior.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southwesterly, becoming moderate to fresh southerly in the afternoon.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Warm in the north-west, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
