Weather Warnings

  1. Gale to strong gale force north-easterly winds (65-80 km/h) are expected along the coast between Table Bay and Plettenberg Bay as well as between Port Elizabeth and Durban.
  2. Gale to strong gale force north-westerly interior winds (65-80km/h) are expected over the Central Karoo, Cape Winelands, Cape Metropole, Overberg, Garden Route Districts of the Western Cape as well as the Karoo Hoogland in the Northern Cape.

Weather Watches

  1. Severe thunderstorms leading to localised flooding is expected over the Cape Metropole, Overberg, south-western parts of Cape Winelands and southern West Coast District.

Special Weather Advisories

  1. A cut off low is expected to affect the Western Cape and Northern Cape provinces on Wednesday. The public and small stock farmers are advised that very cold conditions and very rough seas can be expected.

Temperature: Morning fog patches on the highgrounds, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers.

Temperature: Morning fog patches and drizzle along the escarpment with isolated showers and rain in the south west, otherwise partly cloudy and cold but cool in the Lowveld.

Temperature: Morning fog patches and drizzle along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cold to cool.

Temperature: Partly cloudy, windy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the east.

Free State:

Temperature: Partly cloudy, windy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy, windy and cold to cool with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east and southern high ground.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly reaching strong at times, becoming light to moderate north of Lambert’s Bay towards the afternoon.

Temperature: Cloudy and cold to cool and windy with widespread to scattered showers and thundershowers expected over the west but isolated showers and thundershowers in the north. Heavy downpours leading flooding can be expected in the south-west.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be strong to gale north-westerly, reaching strong gale south of Cape point at times.

Eastern Cape:

The Western halfTemperature: Cloudy and cool with isolated showers north of Grahamstown, but scattered over the escarpment. Strong interior winds are expected.

The Western Half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Strong north easterly, becoming moderate westerly in the afternoon.

The Eastern halfTemperature: Partly cloudy and cool, with light showers north of the Winterberg.

The Eastern halfWind: The wind along the coast will be strong north-easterly.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers in the west.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh north-easterly but strong along the south coast.
