Orlando Pirates transfer latest: Bucs to bolster squad in January!
Orlando Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids has confirmed that the club are looking at signing new players in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Buccaneers have struggled to find any consistency during the first half of the campaign with injuries playing a major factor in Mayfair.
Orlando Pirates were without star players like Thembinkosi Lorch, Zakhele Lepasa, Vincent Pule and Richard Ofori for majority of the first half of the campaign.
The Buccaneers were also plagued by off field issues with the likes of Gabadinho Mhango and Ben Mothswari missing for extended periods.
The good news for Orlando Pirates fans however is that the club are indeed looking at roping in quality signings during the upcoming January transfer window.
Orlando Pirates to bolster squad in January!
“There are some areas, and there are discussions internally in terms of those areas that we need to strengthen,” Orlando Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids told reporters.
“It showed Richard Ofori being out for long, our front area and attacking players with Vincent Pule and Thembinkosi Lorch out, and Collins Makgaga coming in, and now just missing the last three matches.
“There are areas that we have identified, but that has been in internal discussions. You don’t want to be quoting positions, but on the whole there are departments that need depth to sustain us going into Caf Confederation Cup. Orlando Pirates will be travelling and having matches every three days.
“And you don’t want to rotate. You want to play the strongest Orlando Pirates team. But you are going to have these moments where you need a player to come in and you don’t lose the structure, and don’t have a dip in quality because of the replacement.”
