  1. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the North-West, south-western Bushveld, the western Highveld in Mpumalanga, parts of the Free State and northern Eastern Cape.

Temperature and UBV forecast

Gauteng:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot and windy, becoming partly cloudy with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but warm in the Lowveld. Isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers are expected in the west.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the west.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot.

Free State:

Temperature: Cloudy in the east at first, otherwise fine and warm.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Fine and cool but warm in the north-east but partly cloudy over the south-western parts at first.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light south-easterly becoming fresh to strong in the afternoon.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Fine and warm but partly cloudy and cool in the south-west.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly, but fresh to strong in the south-west. It will becoming moderate south-easterly in the south by afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool in places in the south in the morning, otherwise fine and warm.

The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light northerly, but moderate south-easterly from late morning until evening.

The Eastern half Temperature: Cloudy with Isolated showers and rain along The Wild Coast in the morning, otherwise fine and cool to warm.

The Eastern half Wind: The wind along the coast will be light north-easterly, becoming moderate to fresh from late morning.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise cloudy becoming partly cloudy from mid-morning and cool to warm but hot in the north-west.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly north of Durban at first otherwise easterly to north-easterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
