Two people shot and killed in Westridge shooting on Friday night
Two people have been shot dead, while two others were injured in a shooting incident in Westridge Durban on Friday evening.
THE SHOOTING HAPPENED ON FRIDAY EVENING
According to Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen, they were called to the scene just after 18h00.
“Emer-G-Med paramedics were called to the scene just after 18h00 and on arrival found two males approximately forty years of age in a Nissan Navara.”
He said on closer inspection, they were found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead on arrival of paramedics.
“Reports from the scene allege one of the deceased to be a candidate Ward Councillor for the area; however, these details remain speculative.”
Van Reenen said two other men were rushed to a nearby hospital privately for gunshot wounds before the arrival of paramedics.
“The men’s condition is unknown.”

He said the South African Police Services were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigations accordingly.
Meanwhile, the founder and owner of Max’s Lifestyle Village in Umlazi, Max Mqadi, was shot by two suspects who came up to his car.
Upon sustaining the gunshot injuries, he managed to drive himself to Florida Road in Morningside.
THE SHOOTING HAPPENED AS HE WAS LEAVING HIS ESTABLISHMENT ON THURSDAY EVENING
Police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele the shooting happened Thursday evening at approximately 18:55.

“He had climbed into his white Mercedes and was about to enter and turn left into Sibusiso Madekane Road, when an unknown male suspect crossed the road and approached towards the left side from his vehicle and opened fire on him with 9mm firearm. Another male suspect approached from his right side.
“The suspect that came from across the road fired a number of shots at him, injuring only his arm and leg.”
Mbele said he immediately drove off and arrived at Florida Road, Morningside, where he received ambulance assistance and was rushed to Umhlanga hospital.
He is in stable condition.
