Kaizer Chiefs latest INJURY update: More BAD news at Naturena!

Kaizer Chiefs are set to be without star striker Samir Nurkovic for up to six weeks following knee surgery!

Nurkovic went for an operation exactly one week ago to repair his meniscus in his right knee and his return date has since been confirmed.

According to reports, Kaizer Chiefs will be without the Serbian striker for at least six more weeks!

“I have had this injury niggling me for a while now – the medical team felt it was best to get the operation done. Further assessments will be done after the operation. The medical team will give me a timeline on the recovery process after that.” Samir Nurkovic said last week.

Kaizer Chiefs to welcome star striker back in November?

“Samir Nurkovic is expected to miss a lot of football if word reaching the Siya crew is anything to go by following his surgery last week.” a SoccerLaduma report read regarding the Kaizer Chiefs star.

“It’s understood Nurkovic could be unavailable for up to six weeks! That means Amakhosi might only welcome back their talisman in the middle of November, around the time when Premier Soccer League clubs are closing in on the halfway mark of the current 2021/22 season.”

Kaizer Chiefs are already without Leonardo Castro, Siyabonga Ngezana and Dumisani Zuma who are all yet to feature for the Amakhosi this season due to long-term injuries.

The good news for the Amakhosi is that Phathutshedzo Nange and Kgaogelo Sekgota are both likely to return to action in the coming matches after picking up knocks during recent weeks.

Samir Nurkovic’s injury means Stuart Baxter’s attacking force remains incredibly thin. Khama Billiat has been deployed as a false nine during recent weeks while Lazalous Kambole is the only other recognized striker available.
