PSL confirms deadline day for player transfer window
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed the closing date of the current transfer window.

According to a statement from the league, midnight on Tuesday, 31 August marks “Deadline Day” after which clubs will not be allowed to register new players.

“The 2021/22 [Premier Soccer League domestic transfer window will officially close on Tuesday, August 31 2021 at midnight.
“The domestic transfer window opened on July 1 2021,” said a PSL statement.
The 2021/22 DStv Premiership season kicks off on Friday, 20 August with a mouth-watering clash between defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns and last season’s runners-up, AmaZulu.
The transfer window closing date means clubs will have 11 days or so after the season starts in which to identify any last-minute gaps that require filling.

A number of blockbuster trades have already been confirmed with Kaizer Chiefs leading the way with no fewer than 10 – and they don’t appear to be done!
Among those, the biggest have been the acquisitions of Keagan Dolly and Cole Alexander as well as Sibusiso Mabiliso, Brandon Peterson, Pathutshedzo Nange and Kgaogelo Sekgota.

Mamelodi Sundowns have acquired Thabiso Kutumela from Maritzburg United, Neo Maema and Sifiso Ngobeni from Bloemfontein Celtic and Pavol Safranko from Romanian club Sepsi OSK.
Meanwhile, to date Orlando Pirates have brought in Goodman Mosele from Baroka FC and free agents Kwanda Mngonyama and Bandile Shandu.
