Just bopping along: Ostriches dance to boeremusiek in SA [watch]
A video taken in the Western Cape of South Africa shows ostriches bopping along to boeremusiek.

It looks like these large flightless birds, which are native to certain large areas of Africa, prefer the sound of boeremusiek to get moving.
According to SAPeople, Western Cape resident Herman Labuschagne captured the mesmerising scene on video, in which the ostriches bop along to Resiesbaan Setties by Die Dagbrekers.

Herman says: “The chicks dance when I play music. What can I say? Ostriches like boeremusiek!”
When Herman’s not playing DJ at an ostrich rave, he’s an international distributor at Powerbind.
Of course, South Africans loved it saying that the video is “hilarious!”

Going viral
This is not the first time animals have mesmerised the internet for their dancing or singing skills. Back in 2019, Travis Kinley from the US said that he was singing Circle Of Life in the pasture and when his donkey Nathan started ‘singing’ along.
He shared the moment in a video that quickly went viral.
Kinley posted the video to Facebook writing, “Did the Lion King opening and Nathan joined in with me! I love this dude!”:

Kinley told WKYC at the time that he adopted Nathan after the donkey started causing problems to his previous owner:
“I got him from about the North Carolina, South Carolina line,” Kinley explained. “He was causing some trouble at someone else’s house and I just picked him up for $100 bucks, he seemed alright with me.”
They’ve gotten along ever since. “You can always tell he’s a thinking animal,” Kinley told the publication. “He’s just playful, that’s just in his nature.”
