‘Gomora’ fans: ‘That slap knocked some sense into London’
Legendary actor Israel Matseku Zulu wasn’t welcomed with opened arms when he joined Gomora this season to play the character of Don.
Viewers expected Zulu to be the gangster he was set out to play from the beginning and didn’t appreciate the build-up to take so long.
They found him too boring, weak and a bit softer than his previous roles and demanded the actor to exit the show.

That all changed tonight when Don slapped London who pointed a gun at him because he felt insecure and threatened.
Tonight’s feud between London (Robert Mpisi) and Don is just the beginning though as the August teasers reveal that London is set to threaten Don’s daughter Sibongile (Nandipha Khubone).
He will flirt with her at Gomora High and will retaliate when she rejects him.
By the time Don discovers what London did to his daughter, it will be too late as Sibongile’s trauma will change her forever.
ZULU REFLECTS ON HIS ‘GOMORA’ ROLE
The actor told Sowetan:
People should expect the unexpected. It was very challenging because I’m used to violent and serious characters, but this one starts very cool and calm.
I enjoyed that transition from anger to laughter, sadness and funny.
Zulu is a typecast actor who has portrayed many thuggish roles in shows such as Gaz’lam, iNumber Number, Isibaya, Rockville, Is’thunzi, Zone 14 and more.
Sometimes you feel like it’s unfair. You observe people tell you that you are good, but it seems not good enough because in the criteria of winning awards I’m not good.
