‘Donda’ finally drops: Kanye West’s long-awaited album is here! [listen]

Three listening sessions and a few teasers later, Kanye West’s long-awaited 10th studio album Donda, is here. The release of the album left fans both relieved and excited but Kanye says the album was released without his approval. 

What does this mean for Kanye West’s fans? Does this mean the album could be pulled from streaming platforms?

KANYE WEST DROPS ‘DONDA’

Kanye West’s Donda was officially released on streaming platforms on 29 August. Donda delivers the full package in a 27-track album with a number of A-list features. 

The album includes features from Jay-Z, Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Marilyn Manson, DaBaby, Swizz Beatz, Pop Smoke, Roddy Rich and Ty Dolla $ign.

Kanye West named the album after his mother Donda West, who passed away in November 2007.

FANS WAITED AND WAITED… 

Fans of the Ultralight Beam hitmaker waited in anticipation for the album to drop. 

Kanye West’s manager Abou “Bou” Thiam reassured fans that the album would be released after the third listening party in Chicago on 26 August. 

The two release dates set for Donda were 23 July and 6 August. 

The Grammy award-winning rapper moved into the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta to finish the album. He shared a few snaps of his living situation with fans on his Instagram.

Shortly after the release of Donda, West took to Instagram to share that record label Universal Music, had released the album without his approval. “Universal put my album out without my approval and they blocked Jail 2 from being on the album, ” West wrote.

Could this mean that Kanye West was hoping to add a few more contributions to Donda?
