Bulls in talks with 2007 Rugby World Cup-winning Springbok star
The Bulls’ player buying spree is not over with the union reportedly hoping to sign one of the stars of Jake White’s 2007 Rugby World Cup-winning squad.

According to Sunday’s Rapport, the Pretoria franchise have begun negotiations with hooker Bismarck du Plessis.
Talks between both parties are said to be “progressing positively”.

Du Plessis, who has 79 caps for the Springboks and 11 tries for his country, joined French Top 14 club Montpellier after the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
In six seasons in France, Du Plessis played 108 matches for Montpellier, scoring 27 tries and was part of the squad that won the European Challenge Cup in both 2016 and 2021.

Du Plessis, now 37, played under White at Montpellier and it appears the duo could be set to reunite at Loftus Versfeld.
Bethlehem-born Du Plessis left France in June of this year to return to South Africa.
He played his final Test for the Springboks in the third-place playoff victory over Argentina at the 2015 World Cup in London.
