Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
- Yellow level 2 warning for RAIN resulting in localized flooding, is expected in the Overberg and the coastal areas of the Garden Route Districts in the Western Cape.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
- Nil.
ADVISORIES:
- Series of cold fronts are expected to bring in very cold conditions, with daytime temperatures below 10.C over the high-lying areas of the Western Cape and Namakwa District in the Northern Cape from Tuesday (20/07/2021) through to Thursday (22/07/2021).
The public and small stock farmers are advised to take necessary precautions.
Gauteng:
Temperature: Morning frost in the south, otherwise fine and cool.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Morning frost over the Highveld, otherwise fine and cold to cool but warm in the Lowveld.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Morning frost over the south-western Bushveld, otherwise fine and cool but warm in the Lowveld.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Morning frost in some places, otherwise fine and cool.
Free State:
Temperature: Morning frost in some places, otherwise fine and cold to cool.
Northern Cape:
East temperature: Morning mist over the southwestern parts, otherwise fine and cold to cool, becoming partly cloudy in the west from the afternoon.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Cloudy and cold with scattered showers and rain but widespread along the Garden Route. Possible snowfalls is expected over the
western and eastern highgrounds.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly, reaching strong at times, becoming south-westerly south of Table Bay by the evening spreading along the south coastal regions.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Temperature: Cloudy and cold to cool with scattered showers and rain, but isolated in the north where it will be partly cloudy
The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh south-westerly, but strong in the evening.
The Eastern half – Temperature: Fine and cool, becoming partly cloudy in places.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly, becoming fresh south-westerly.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Fine and cool but warm in the north-east.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate northerly to north-easterly.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.
