‘Skeem Saam’: A new arrival and the return of Baby Maker, Jazzy T

Skeem Saam is introducing a new face and the returns of familiar faces ahead of its 10th birthday this year.

The show debuted on 12 October 2011 with three schoolboys as the main lead characterds: namely Cornet Mamabolo as Tbose Maputla, Patrick Seleka as Katlego Peterson, and Clement Maosa as Kwaito Maputla-Seakamela.

BABYMAKER

Old and new fans will be thrilled to learn that their favourite character, Babymaker, played by Bongani Masondo, is returning to the show.

• We’ll see Babymaker at Leeto’s divorce party and again on July 23.
• Babymaker is a troublemaker, a ladies man, and Lelo Mthiyane’s (Amanda du Pont) baby mama.
• He exited the show in season five!

JAZZY T

Rhythm City’s Fats, played by Mpho Molepo, will take over the role of Jazzy T from the late Karabo Mokhubela who passed away last year.

• This isn’t Molepo’s first appearance on the show.
• The actor played the first Charles Kunutu in season one before the show replaced him with Masilo Mogano who currently plays the role.
• Molepo is also related to fan-favourite Arthur Molepo who currently plays the role of Captain Malebana.

Viewers will spot Jazzy T at Leeto’s divorce party on Thursday 29 July.

LORD OF THE FLIES

Archie Nhlapo will reprise his 2016 role as Lord of the Flies on 27 July. He will also be partying up a storm at Leeto Maputla’s divorce party.

NANDI

A new arrival this season is former Imbewu: TheSeed actress Fundiswa Zwane who will play the role of Nandi.

• Nandi is Sifiso’s (Bongani Madondo) wife and a proud, strong woman who loves being a housewife.
• We are going to see Nandi and Mantuli (Dieketseng Mnisi) quarrel occasionally on the show as she’s jealous of their relationship.
• Mantuli will run off to Johannesburg to stay with her brother Sifiso when things get heated for her in Turfloop.

Zwane will debut on Thursday 27 July.
