Orlando Pirates loan attacking duo to Soweto rivals ahead of new season

Orlando Pirates have confirmed reaching an agreement with Soweto rivals Swallows for two of their players to join them.

Pirates revealed in a statement that winger Austin Muwowo will be spending the new season at Swallows after having struggled with game time.

Muwowo has been with Pirates for two seasons, and this will be his final year with the club – soon to be called his parent club.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Moroka Swallows for the services of Austin Muwowo on a season-long loan for the upcoming 2021/22 season,” reads the statement on the Pirates website.

Furthermore, Pirates confirmed that Muwowo will be joined by new signing and Bafana Bafana striker Monnapule Saleng at Swallows.

Saleng was signed by Pirates from Free State Stars over a month ago, but the club feels he needs to gain first-team experience.

“The Zambian international who spent the past two seasons with the Buccaneers will be joined by new signing Monnapule Saleng who will gain valuable first-team experience with the Dube Birds in the upcoming campaign.”
