Riots reloading? Leaked file details chilling plot for ‘Phase 2’ of unrest
A leaked document detailing ‘Phase 2’ of planned riots in South Africa has been picked up this week, after it was made public by the media. A report from intelligence officials details the steps police are set to take later this month, with an alleged plot to make the country ungovernable up for renewal.
Phase 2 of riots ‘could hit SA hard’
There has been some debate over the July riots, and if they were actually part of an insurrection plan. However, should this leaked document have its facts right, the actions planned for Monday 23 August would certainly fit the bill.
The report – featured by Netwerk24 amongst others – states that the top instigators are looking to cause disruptions at police stations, military bases, and national key points. It’s claimed that the goal will be to steal MORE ammunition from some of the most secure locations in the country, in order to bring the state to its knees.
Plans to ‘release prisoners, target cops’ allegedly in the pipeline
There are also chilling details about the potential for prisons to be targeted. Masses of rioters could be told to make their way to Correctional Service facilities and attempt to FREE inmates. State vehicles and municipal offices are also listed as ‘vulnerable’ in the report. However, this time around, the police seem to be more prepared.
Due to the information shared by intelligence officials, the following steps for Phase 2 are reportedly in place:
- No police officer will be working alone on Monday 23 August
- All cops on duty will be told to wear bulletproof vests – even those in charging offices
- All firearms will have to be stored in a safe place, or remain upon an officer’s person.
- Cops who don’t have their own vehicles must be fetched by colleagues or anyone who can drive them.
- Any threat made in relation to this plot must be taken seriously, by ALL members of the police force.
