Kaizer Chiefs latest | When are Amakhosi expected to unveil new signings?

Kaizer Chiefs fans are hungry for ‘breaking news’ from their club since the start of July after a lot was reported about possible new signings.

However, nothing has come through from Chiefs, and that has undoubtedly left a section of their fans a little bit frustrated.

Chiefs are now allowed to sign and register new players after having served a two-window transfer ban which ended on 30 June.

And their fans are waiting with baited breath to see who Amakhosi will be bringing in to reinforce their squad ahead of next season.

A number of high-profile players have been linked with Chiefs but the club is yet to say a word on the media reports.

The burning question on everyone’s lips, or at least, on those who support Chiefs is when the Soweto giants will be unveiling their new signings.

The answer is not as simple as it may seem.

In fact, it’s a bit complicated that just saying the transfer window is officially open, and that Chiefs are allowed to sign new players.

Chiefs have a CAF Champions League final to play on 17 July against Al Ahly, and it appears that’s where they are channeling their energies to for now.

It is, perhaps, for that reason Chiefs have been silent on the players whose contracts expired on 30 June.

So, at worst, Chiefs fans may have to wait until after the CAF Champions League final to know who their new players are.

That would be closer to the start of the new season, and it would create some excitement ahead of the what is expected to be another competitive PSL campaign.
