Gavin Hunt’s Chippa United give club skipper the boot
Chippa United have parted ways with club captain Isaac Nhlapo after both parties reached a mutual agreement.

Nhlapo, 30, joins Oupa Manyisa, Thokozani Sekotlong and Anthony Laffor in leaving the Gqeberha-based side after helping the club survive relegation last season.

Nhlapo made 23 DStv Premiership appearances for Chippa United last season as the club struggled to 15th place in the final standings.
The Chilli Boys have appointed former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt as their new head coach to replace Lehlohonolo Seema who has moved on to Golden Arrows.
Nhlapo’s manager Mandla Mthembu has confirmed his client’s departure.

“It’s a question of the technical team feeling that he does not feature in the direction that the club is taking. We engaged with the club chairman and came to a decision to mutually terminate,” Mthembu told the Kickoff website.
“This is in the interest of both parties because we cannot have a captain sitting on the bench and being frustrated, there is nothing untoward. Nhlapho enjoyed his time with the club and was well looked after.”

Mthembu could not reveal Nhlapo’s next destination.
“We are already looking for options towards the next chapter for Nhlapho.”
