Breaking: South African OUT of Tokyo Olympics after positive Covid-19 test
The International Golf Federation has confirmed that Paula Reto tested positive for Covid-19 as part of the final testing protocol before leaving for the Tokyo Olympics and therefore is unable to compete for South Africa in the women’s competition.

In accordance with the IGF’s Late Athlete Replacement Policy, Diksha Dagar of India will replace Reto as the next available athlete identified by the IGF Reallocation Reserve List, having been nominated by her National Olympic Committee.

Ashleigh Buhai will be Team SA’s lone entrant in the event.
The women’s competition begins on Wednesday, 4 August 4 at Kasumigaseki Country Club.
