Ex Kaizer Chiefs mentor a possibility for Chippa United?
Chippa United parted ways with Lehlohonolo Seema following the playoffs with the former Celtic manager set to take up a new post elsewhere in the PSL.
Mpengesi, notorious for hiring and firing coaches, is eyeing a ‘high-profile’ coach and is intrigued by the thought of landing former Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt.
“Is Gavin Hunt available?” Mpengesi asked Kick-off when questioned regarding the recently sacked Kaizer Chiefs manager.
“We have received a lot of applications, including a number of international coaches. We have short listed the number into 12. This time we are looking for a high-profile coach. We should be announcing the new coach next week.”
Despite his disaster spell at Kaizer Chiefs, Gavin Hunt remains one of the top coaches in South Africa and barring the legendary Pitso Mosimane, the former SuperSport United triple league winning coach is the most successful mentor in the PSL.
With Chippa United set to appoint a high-profile manager, would Gavin Hunt be a good fit for the club going forward? Let us know in the comments section below.
