Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
- Orange level 6 warning for RAIN resulting in flooding is expected over the City Of Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Theewaterskloof of the Western Cape.
- Yellow level 4 warning for RAIN resulting in flooding is expected over the Saldanha Bay, Swartland, Cape Winelands and Overstrand of the Western Cape.
- Orange level 6 warning for WIND resulting in structural damage are expected over the Namakwa District of the Northern Cape, West Coast, Central Karoo, Cape Winelands, Garden Route and Swellendam of the Western Cape as well as both eastern and western half of the Eastern Cape.
- Yellow level 4 warning for WIND resulting in structural damage are expected over the Central Karoo, Cape Winelands and City Of Cape Town and Overstrand of the Western Cape.
- Yellow level 4 warning for WAVES resulting in difficulty in navigation at sea is expected between Saldanha Bay and East London.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
- Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the northern interior of the Eastern Cape as well as the western half of KwaZulu-Natal.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Fine and cool.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Fine and cool to warm but hot in the Lowveld.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Fine and warm but hot in the Lowveld.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Fine and cool to warm.
Free State:
Temperature: Partly cloudy in the south west, otherwise fine and cool.
Northern Cape:
East temperature: Cloudy in the south, otherwise fine and cold to cool .
West temperature: Cloudy and cool to cold with rain and showers in the west and south from the afternoon. It will become extremely windy in the west from evening spreading over the interior through the night.
West wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly becoming strong in the afternoon, reaching gale to strong gale through the night.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Cloudy, cool to cold and very windy with widespread rain and showers in the west, otherwise isolated to scattered in the morning. It will become partly cloudy along the south coastal areas from tomorrow afternoon. Rain and showers again expected for the south-western parts from evening.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be Strong to gale force north-westerly to westerly gusting up to strong gale along the south-coast in the early morning, but along the west and south-west coast from late morning
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Temperature: Partly cloudy at first with isolated showers and rain in extremely west, otherwise fine and cool.
The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-westerly at first and evening, becoming Gale westerly from late morning, but strong south-westerly by the afternoon.
The Eastern half – Temperature: Partly cloudy in places over interior with isolated showers and rain in the morning, otherwise fine and cool.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Fresh to strong north-westerly at first, becoming westerly from late morning, but fresh south-westerly by the afternoon.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Partly cloudy in the morning, otherwise fine and warm but hot in places in the north-east.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate northerly to north-westerly, becoming moderate to fresh north-easterly in the afternoon. It will become moderate south-westerly from the south by late afternoon, spreading northwards by evening.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.
