Ntsiki to DJ Zinhle: ‘Selling weaves is no different to selling drugs’
Musical artist Ntsiki Mazwai throws shade at DJ Zinhle’s new weave venture via a series of tweets on 3 June.
DJ ZINHLE VENTURES INTO HAIR INDUSTRY
Ntombezinhle Jiyane, popularly known by her stage name DJ Zinhle, is a successful house DJ with many business ventures under her name, such as fashion, alcohol and interior design. The Umlilo hitmaker has just stepped into the hair industry as well with the launch of her Peruvian wig range called Hair Majesty by DJ Zinhle on 1 June.
“BIG ANNOUNCEMENT I’m so excited to let you all know that @hairmajesty_by_djzinhle is finally here Go to www.hairmajesty.co.za to shop from my first release of 16 premium Peruvian lace wigs and #WearTheCrownYouDeserve #HairMajestySA,” wrote DJ Zinhle on Instagram.
According to the Hair Majesty website, new wigs will be added every two to three months and are currently available in 13 x 4 lace front wigs, 4 x 4 closure lace wigs and middle part lace wigs. The wigs retail between R2200 – R4000.
NTSIKI THROWS SHADE AT DJ ZINHLE
However, not everyone is happy about DJ Zinhle’s new business venture. Gender-Based Violence (GBV) activist and musician Ntsiki Mazwai took to Twitter in a series of tweets to express how unimpressed she was with DJ Zinhle’s wig and alcohol business ventures.
“Imagine….. Your celebs glamorize and sell booze and foreign hair to you. Sies man,” wrote Ntsiki Mazwai.
“Weaves and Booze.Nice work leaders. You make the youth focus on weaves and booze. Levels,” she continued.
She then brought race into the argument.
The artist ended with comparing selling wigs to selling drug as she labels both as an addiction.
This is not the first time Ntsiki threw shade at a celebrity. Back in April she tweeted,
“All your celebs have booze but no educational degree,”
This was around the time Boity had launched her luxury beverage brand. The media personality responded with a picture of her BT Signature and “cheers”.
