Arthur Zwane reveals Kaizer Chiefs’ game-changing tactical switch!
Caretaker Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has opened up regarding the tactical substitution that turned things around for the Amakhosi against Golden Arrows.
Kaizer Chiefs had to come from behind on two occasions in their DStv Premiership clash against the high-flying Golden Arrows this afternoon.
A hatrick from midfielder Lebogang Manyama meant Zwane’s side walked away a 3-2 victory on the day ending their six match winless run in the league.
Zwane explains Kaizer Chiefs’ change of tactics
While Manyama was the star of the show, youngster Nkosingiphile Ngcobo’s introduction in the second half was key for Kaizer Chiefs’ turnaround and Zwane has explained how the Amakhosi found the front foot following the youngsters introduction.
“We allowed them at some points to dictate terms in the midfield of the park. So we had to bring in Ngcobo, who gave us balance and was good going forward. We needed someone who could just keep the ball for us and get the runners at the right time.” Kaizer Chiefs caretaker coach Arthur Zwane told SuperSport TV.
“That was our plan. To start Ngcobo on the bench. Because we knew that Baccus would give us 60 minutes. And knowing that when you bring in Ngcobo and Happy you have more players with speed and who can apply pressure. At that time their energy evels would have dropped.
“Kaizer Chiefs are only left with one game. We will treat it with respect. We will also prepare like we prepared for this one. Obviously with slightly different players. They have players who are hard runners. They use a lot of energy.”
