DStv Premiership: 4 things to be decided on final day of the season
The 2020/21 DStv Premiership season draws to a close on Saturday, 5 June with all eight of the scheduled matches set to kick off at 15:00 sharp.
While Mamelodi Sundowns have already been crowned champions, there are still plenty of talking points ahead of what promises to be a fascinating final day.

SPOTS IN AFRICA UP FOR GRABS
While you’d think this would be cast in stone, there’s still some confusion as to how many positions will be open to South African sides in next season’s CAF Champions League.
Normally the top two finishers are awarded CAF Champions League spots while the third-place team gets into the CAF Confederation Cup.
However, with Kaizer Chiefs still in contention for victory in this season’s CAF Champions League, should they do the unthinkable and go on to lift the trophy, according to current CAF rules they will get to defend their title – at the expense of second-place DStv Premiership finishers AmaZulu.
SAFA have apparently sought clarity on the matter.
If CAF stick to their guns and Kaizer Chiefs win this season’s title, will AmaZulu drop down to the CAF Confederation Cup?
Currently we have the comical situation of South African teams pulling against Kaizer Chiefs!
Orlando Pirates currently occupy third place with Golden Arrows in fourth, three points behind. A point in their home match against TTM will be enough for the Buccaneers to secure that third-place finish.

FINAL MTN8 SPOT
The top seven sides have all secured their spots in next season’s MTN8 tournament, while the eighth and final place is still up for grabs.
TS Galaxy hold the aces and are three points ahead of ninth-placed Kaizer Chiefs and 10th-placed Baroka FC.
Making things extra interesting is that TS Galaxy will host Kaizer Chiefs at the Thohoyandou Stadium in their final clash of the season.
A point for TS Galaxy will see them wrap up the eighth and final spot while a win for Kaizer Chiefs – by any scoreline – will see Amakhosi finish their season in the top half of the table.
Baroka FC require something of a miracle win away to Swallows.
Whoever does finish eighth will face Mamelodi Sundowns in the first round of the MTN8. Good luck!

RELEGATION SCRAP
Black Leopards have already been relegated and will be replaced in the top-flight next season by Real Kings.
Whoever finishes 15th in the DStv Premiership will move into a three-team round-robin playoff with the second and third-place finishers in the GladAfrica Championship.
The courts may have to decide who those teams will be such is the chaos currently surrounding that situation.
Chippa United are in 15th place and need nothing less than a victory at home against SuperSport United in their final match.
Even that won’t be good enough if Stellenbosch FC draw or beat Golden Arrows away from home.

GOLDEN BOOT
SuperSport United’s Bradley Grobler has all-but wrapped up the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award.
His 16 goal haul to date is three more than Mamelodi Sundowns marksman Peter Shalulile.
With “only” 13 goals to date, Shalulile is unlikely to score three or more in his final match.
The Brazilians also face the tougher final match on paper at least against Cape Town City FC while SuperSport United play Chippa United.
