Bafana Bafana hit by Covid-19 as Percy Tau & Teboho Mokoena test positive!

Bafana Bafana have been hit hard by Covid-19 with Percy Tau and Teboho Mokoena ruled out of the Uganda clash after testing positive.

In addition, Mokoena’s club teammate and close friend Sipho Mbule has also been instructed to self-isolate as he has been in contact with the Bethlehem-born star.

As a result, Tau and Mokoena will miss Thursday’s international friendly against Uganda at the Orlando Stadium, while Mbule will continue to be monitored.

The Bafana Bafana technical team led by assistant coaches Janevski Cedomir and Helman Mkhalele will decide as to whether or not the trio will be replaced.

Furthermore, Mamelodi Sundowns trio of Rivaldo Coetzee, Mothobi Mvala and Mosa Lebusa will be assessed by the Bafana Bafana medical team.

The three players suffered minor knocks in Sundowns’ final match of the season against Cape Town City on Saturday.

And a decision on whether or not they should remain in camp to prepare for Uganda will be made once the results of their scans are back.

As confirmed on Sunday night, Bafana Bafana will be led by Hugo Broos’ assistants Cedomir and Mkhalele against Uganda.

This is because Broos is still out of the country having left for Belgium earlier this month to get a second jab of Covid-19 vaccine.
