Pirates vs Chiefs: Carling Black Label date, venue & kick-off time confirmed

The date, venue and kick-off time for the 2021 Carling Black Label match between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs have officially been confirmed.

As The South African exclusively reported last week, this year’s event will take place on 31 July at the Orlando Stadium.

This is because the usual venue for the annual spectacle, the FNB Stadium, has already been booked for 31 July.

Kick-off at the Orlando Stadium is at 8PM.

The iconic venue will host a rugby match between the Springboks and the British & Irish Lions at 5PM on the day.

This will be the return of the Carling Black Label after the 2020 edition was cancelled due to Covid-19.

Pirates and Chiefs have faced each other eight times before in this pre-season event since its first launch in 2011.

The Buccaneers boast five titles while Amakhosi lifted the trophy on three occasions.
