Cheslin Kolbe try nominated for Try of the Season

Springbok wing Cheslin Kolbe’s try for his French side Toulouse in Round 1 of this season’s European Champions Cup has been shortlisted for the Try of the Season award.

Kolbe’s try (see below) came in Toulouse’s 29-22 win over Irish side Ulster in December 2020 when he rounded off a move from inside his own half.

The star Springbok’s five-pointer was nominated alongside four others with fans given the opportunity to vote for their favourite.

Toulouse went on to be crowned champions of Europe for a record fifth time when they beat fellow Top 14 side La Rochelle 22-17 in last weekend’s final at Twickenham.

Kolbe will be a key member of the Springbok side when they welcome the British & Irish Lions to South African shores in July.
