Bongani Zungu latest | Bafana Bafana midfielder set for Rangers exit

Bafana Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu is set to leave Scottish champions Rangers at the end of the season.

According to Amiens manager Oswald Tanchot, two players – Molla Wague and Racine Coly – who are on loan at the club will be leaving while Zungu will return to his parent club in France.

Tanchot was bemoaning the fact that he has already used up to 40 players this season, saying it was difficult for him to help Amiens win matches and return to Ligue 1.

And for Tanchot, Amiens need consistency and players such as Zungu to carry the team forward next season.

“This season we have used 40 players which is far, far too much. It’s hard to create anything with that turnaround,” Tanchot told Courrier Picard.

“For next season, we won’t have the services of loan players Molla Wague and Racine Coly who will return to their parent club. But we will have Bongani Zungu back, who has a year left of his contract with us,” he added.

Zungu left Amiens for Rangers on a loan deal in January, and he would have hoped to secure a permanent deal in Scotland following some impressive performances for Steven Gerrard’s team.

Zungu has featured in 20 competitive matches for Rangers this season, and he won the Scottish league title with the team – their first in 10 seasons.
