Allegri replaces Pirlo to reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus

Serie A and Italian giants Juventus have officially announced the return of Massimiliano Allegri as their manager.

Allegri’s return coincides with the sacking of club legend Andrea Pirlo.

Pirlo was sacked on Friday morning after just a year in charge of Juventus, and this was because of the team’s failure to defending their Serie A title.

Juve’s failure to cement their place among the best European clubs also contributed to Pirlo’s sacking.

Now, Allegri returns to the club he led between 2014 and 2019, and he will again get to work with superstar Cristiano Ronaldo at the club.

The pair worked together for a season before Allegri spent two years away from any managerial position.

This despite rumours that Cristiano wants to leave Juventus in the off-season.

Prior to his departure in 2019, Allegri had won five Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia titles, and two Supercoppa Italiana crowns.

It was also under Allegri’s watch that Juventus reached the final of the UEFA Champions League on two occasions in 2015 and 2017.
