Learn how to make your own Herb Infused Cooking Oils

Using a variety of herbs and spices, you can make a unique frying oil to use in your cooking. These infused oils will add extra flavour and can be used in a variety of dishes.

The longer you leave the oil to sit, the richer the flavour will become as the oil absorbs the flavour of the herbs. Decant your infused cooking oil into glass bottles to creative a visually appealing condiment. Make a few extra bottles and use as gifts.

    Make your own infused cooking oils to add extra flavour to your dishes.

    Ingredients

    • 200 ml canola oil

    • 200 ml olive oil

    • 3 peeled garlic cloves

    • 3 fresh rosemary sticks

    • 3 fresh thyme sticks

    • 3 chillies, sliced

    • fresh black, red and green peppercorns

    Method

    • Pour the olive oil and canola oil into a 500 ml glass bottle.
    • With the palm of your hand, crush each garlic clove to release the flavor.
    • Add crushed garlic to the bottle of oil.
    • Add the rest of the ingredients.
    • Allow to sit for 48 hours before using.
