Watch: Out of control Mercedes knocks pedestrian for a six
Twitter users have watched and shared horrific video footage of a silver Mercedes Benz skidding out of control on the wet road outside, The Indaba in William Nichol Drive, captured the car hitting into a pedestrian who is then flung several meters into the air.
It is unclear at this stage whether the pedestrian, who can be seen crossing the road wearing a pair of blue jeans and a red T-shirt, survived the horror accident or not. The road is clearly extremely wet at the time of the accident and the car is seen driving through the traffic light intersection and attempting to brake before hitting the man.
In the video the vehicle is seen colliding with the pedestrian who hits the bonnet of the car before being careered several meters up into the air.

Twitterati were quick to comment on the video with most people expressing empathy for the pedestrian.
The first person to comment was Chuck Western @LaPlantFather who tweeted: “Whoever said ‘QHUM’ when the car hit him won’t see heaven”.
A @AviweS_ tweeted: “Hopefully the man is alive give him his RAF money straight away, no lawyers needed,” to which Duduzile Ndlovu @Didi_Gatsheni responded, “I doubt it. Looks like a really bad hit.”
John @Rooikar commented: “Camera work from a screen not good at all, hope the guy is okay and the driver goes to jail”.
“Why?” responded Horespower @ahpdeb, “The car obviously skidded in the wet road.”
A more stoical UmTheLastStraw @AndileNathan tweeted simply: “It was his day”.
Simley Dimples @simangeleSmiley alleged in his tweet that the driver was “speeding”.
“Speeding dimwit, wet surface bet the driver wanted to catch the yellow robot,” he added.
Grade R DropOut @shaunsst then retorted: “Mercedes Benz is a rear wheel drive dummy. This sort of thing happens when the road is wet. You might find the traction control is not working.”
It is unknown at this stage whether the pedestrian managed to survive the accident.
