In our latest round-up of the hottest PSL transfer rumours, Kaizer Chiefs are in pursuit of a Slovakian winger and will do battle with Cape Town City for a starlet.

Robert Polievka linked to Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs have been keeping an eye on the Slovak second division and the are believed to be in pursuit of Banska Bystrica winger Robert Polievka.

After the roaring success of Samir Nurkovic, who was also signed from Liga 2, Kaizer Chiefs feel that they could lure another European to Naturena.

Reports in Slovakian media claim Chiefs are favourites to land the signature of the former youth international.

Kaizer Chiefs are cagey on the matter, admitting they have been tracking the player but claiming no formal offer has been made.

“There has been talk in the media about Robert and Kaizer Chiefs but there have been no offers, nobody has contacted the player or his representative yet,” a source told KickOff.com.

“His contract expires in June 2022 so Chiefs will need to speak to the club first before opening any talks with Robert.”

Maritzburg United players Mxolisi Kunene and Bandile Shandu are believed to be leaving the Team of Choice at the end of the season.

KZN rivals Golden Arrows and Soweto Giants Orlando Pirates have been linked to both players who are out of contract at the end of the season.

A source close to the players has suggested that neither are keen on leaving the province making Arrows their likely destination.

“Kunene and Shandu are not extending with Maritzburg United, they are targeted by Arrows,” the sources revealed to Soccer Laduma.

“I can’t say whether they’ve agreed anything with Arrows but its clear now that they won’t be leaving KZN.”

Orlando Pirates desperate need to refresh their goalkeeping stocks is evident with Wayne Sandilands, currently the only fit stopper on their books, set to retire at the end of the season.

Ronwen Williams is everybody’s priority signing right now having been the most consistent keeper in the league, but Pirates might not have the funds to beat Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs to his signature.

Another strong candidate in Amazulu keeper Veli Mothwa but those plans could be scuppered if Usuthu qualify for continental football.
