Zodiac z’s: Here’s how much sleep you need according to your star sign

Despite “coronasomnia” doing the rounds these days with an increasing number of people having reported sleep disturbances since the start of the COVID-19, improving your sleeping pattern is essential for overall health and wellness. 

In a recent article for The Sun, well-known astrologist Lisa Stardust and Bed specialist Time4Sleep teamed up to connect sleeping habits with people’s horoscopes. And it showed that the “magical” eight hours sleep a night varies greatly between the various star signs.

How much sleep does your star sign need?

AQUARIUS (JAN 20 TO FEB 18) 

The water babies require nine hours of sleep a day. Spa-like treatments may also help sleeping patterns as they are most relaxed in water. 

TIPS: Before going to bed every night, soak in a warm tub full of water or fill a portable foot spa with warm water for a few minutes. Alternatively, get someone at home to massage your feet with essential oils before bed.

BEDROOM COLOURS: Light grey and cream.

PISCES (FEB 19 TO MARCH 20) 

Pisces actually require the most sleep of all with a whopping 11 hours a night. 

TIPS: A relaxing bath with epsom salts and lavender. Back massages with lavender oil may also help. 

BEDROOM COLOURS: Blue and lavender.

ARIES (MARCH 21 TO APRIL 19) 

The fiery sign of Aries requires the average of six to seven hours of sleep per night.

TIPS: Jotting down a list of things you’re grateful for before bed will assist the ram to stay appreciative of their lives and slow down the overthinking that may threaten their nights sleep.

BEDROOM COLOURS: Bright colours.

TAURUS (APRIL 20 TO MAY 20)

Taurus individuals require eight to 10 hours of sleep a night. 

TIPS: Calming essential oils and aromatherapy.

BEDROOM COLOURS: Earthy.

GEMINI (MAY 21 TO JUNE 20)

The air sign of Gemini requires the average eight hours of sleep.

TIPS: Reduce late night screen time and shut off electronic devices when you’re ready for bed. 

BEDROOM COLOURS: White with little pops of colour.

CANCER (JUNE 21 TO JULY 22)

Cancer requires six to eight hours of sleep a night. 

TIPS: Make the room dark before bed. Power naps during the day may also help with getting enough sleep.

BEDROOM COLOURS: Black and other dark colours.

LEO (JULY 23 TO AUG 22) 

Leo, close to Pisces requires 10 hours of sleep.

TIPS: Meditation and herbal tea would do the trick.

BEDROOM COLOURS: Champagne-coloured sheets and velvet throws.

VIRGO (AUG 23 TO SEPT 22)

Virgo requires seven to eight hours of sleep a night.

TIPS: Journaling before bed. Similar to Aries, a gratitude list would be ideal before attempting a full night’s sleep.

BEDROOM COLOURS: Simple with browns and creams. 

LIBRA (SEPT 23 TO OCT 22)

Libra requires the average eight hours of sleep a night.

TIPS: Self care before bed is essential.

BEDROOM COLOURS: Pastels and shades of cream.

SCORPIO (OCT 23 TO NOV 21)

Scorpio requires eight to 10 hours of sleep a night.

TIPS: A dream journal as they tend to be lucid dreamers.

BEDROOM COLOURS: Deep-red hues.

SAGITTARIUS (NOV 22 TO DEC 21)

A Sagittarius needs only five hours of sleep a night.

TIPS: Avoiding screen time and electronic devices before bed.

BEDROOM COLOURS: Shades of purple.

CAPRICORN (DEC 22 TO JAN 19)

Capricorn’s need seven hours of sleep a night.

TIPS: Place a lepidolite crystal under your pillow.

BEDROOM COLOURS: Shades of green.
